Let's Rock & Roll with our Radio DJs!1954 through the 1980s ~ retro Rock & Roll Radio’s best quotes presented by Blast from Your Past!
Carefully culled (with permission) from the
Reel Radio Repository (the Authentic Aircheck Museum).

Where were you in '62? '72? '82? or even 1954, when Rock & Roll was reeling its way up the music charts?
More to the point, what radio station were you listening to? I'm bringin' back the wild, the crazy, and the zany
chatter of your favorite jocks in Facebook-quotes (420 characters or less!) for your cruise down Memory Lane.

Click on the dated links below to read all of the DJs' chatter while they're spinnin' the platters, quoted Monday through Friday on Facebook!

New at Blast from Your Past! on Facebook--and now here, too! Enjoy the moment … again … with quotes of your favorite DJs from yesteryear. Every weekday beginning August 15, 2011 I've posted a new DJ quote on Facebook, snagged (with permission) from the awesome archives of Reel Radio-the Authentic Aircheck Museum (thank you “Uncle Ricky”!). Now, they're archived here so you can read, remember, and enjoy them over and over!

To make it even more fun, Monday is ‘1950s day, Tuesday is ‘60s day, Wednesday is ‘60s again (‘cause there were so many!), Thursday is ‘70s, and that leaves Friday for the 1980s. What's your favorite decade? Come back on your decade's weekday for an outrageous or heartwarming message from a popular jock in radio land! And occasionally, I may do a “Sunday Special.” Hope you enjoy them, and if you have a special DJ request, let me know!

Of course, the venerables are (or will be) included: Alan Freed, Cousin Brucie, Shotgun Tom Kelly, Wink Martindale, Tom Donahue, Dr. Don Rose, Ron Riley, Larry Lujack, Jim Stagg, Dan Ingram, Joey Reynolds, and of course along with many others, the notorious Wolfman Jack. But some favorites weren't always the most publicized, they were just the best at keeping you entertained: Jack Vincent, Mitch Michael (Terrell Metheny), Norm Prescott, Forrest "Frosty" Mitchell, and an energetic host of others.

The Authentic Aircheck Museum  I listen to many DJs' airchecks every week, from around the country at radio stations large and small, sometimes backing up and replaying a dozen times before recognizing their exact words--do you remember how fast they used to chatter?! And I enjoy every minute of it. If you want that much fun, too, just head on over to Richard Irwin's Reel Radio site and listen for yourself. But feel free to pique your curiosity with the tidbits quoted here--which include the links to each specific quote's page on Reel Radio. (Page links to Reel Radio coming soon!)

This page lists the aircheck links by month quoted, with the first page of quotes beginning on August 15, 2011 through September 30, 2011 (since I stupidly began the quotes in the middle of the month). Enjoy the moment(s) ... again!

August 15 - September 30, 2011 - DJ quotes, weeks #1 through #7
