Hello
Radio DJs’ Friends & Fans!
First, my
wholehearted thank you and tribute to all who have served in our military to
help keep our great country free from oppression. I hope this finds you well,
and enjoying a wonderful, long weekend with your families and friends.
DJ assistance needed – I’ve been
contacted by a UK/BBC Radio2 show producer seeking help in locating viable
contact information for Gary Owens. Some of you have contacts in the
industry, and if you can help, please let me know.
The radio history show producer is working with former
US DJ, Paul Gambaccini, and will be ready to air in
January. He is also seeking contact info for: Scott Shannon,
Rick Dees, and Leonard Maltin. This may also be a good venue for
our book’s promotion.
BFYP Radio Show Alert! If you have not yet
downloaded your ebook edition of Blast from Your Past! the First
Five Years, perhaps this will serve to entice you J … yours truly was
recently interviewed on a virtual radio network about the book (I know, I know,
it isn’t the same as radio in “the good ol’ days,” but you realize we do have
to live with it now).
I was able to mention
a few BFYP DJs and of course, Wolfman Jack. And I’ve been “constructively”
critiqued by my nephew who actually counted my too-many “ums” (13), but
all-in-all, I think it went well. To my defense of ums, I haven’t been on-air
in ages, and I was engrossed in the preceding interview of Little Anthony!
So please follow
this link to the GRAND Magazine’s radio show (for
grandparents) – and feel free to share it with your friends! (If this link does
not work, the full URL is at the end of this update.)
For my interview,
scroll down to the 4th segment – I enjoyed the chat with show
producer, Barbara Beach, and co-host, “Harrigan” – do any of you remember Irv
Harrigan (Paul Menard) of San Diego’s “Charlie & Harrigan” show? And
70-year-old Little Anthony was energizing to say the least! (It’s possible
you’ll see/hear more of me soon, with GRAND Magazine.)
Also, on Amazon, reader
reviews are gold! If you downloaded the BFYP-First Five Years ebook (only $3.99) or just the free sample
intro pages, it would help to improve the book’s Amazon ranking, if you would
post a review. (Be honest!) Thank you for your help!
(And again, you do not
need a Kindle in order to purchase*, download, and read ebooks – Kindle has a free app for your PC or laptop
– downloads are quick and easy! Or look for the link on the right side of the
book’s Amazon page.)
Contrary to probable
popular belief, I am still writing away on the 25-year print version of Blast from
Your Past! I can’t explain the intricacies of it, which command
so much time, but if you have downloaded the 5-year ebook version (thank you!),
you’ll get a small taste of the work involved. And in-between a “real” job, and
the book, I’m obviously working on marketing, so I’m rockin’ all day long!
