We Can Dig that Werewolf … um … Wolfman!
I know for sure, now, I can’t research and create these articles in one day. Sigh. Between family commitments and stupid companies that employ people who don’t know their jobs, time goes by faster than our slick politicians change their policies.
But mixing in a little Halloween magic with Rock & Roll is always fun, so c’mon back in a day or so for the full dope on ROCK-TOBER 1974. Meanwhile, a little teaser … mingling with ROCK-TOBER’s fun Rock Radio History are ghosts, goblins, and werewolves! Well, at least hairy DJs and spooky songs.
From
the beginning of his DJ career, Halloween was a natural fave holiday for Wolfman
Jack. He blended family and fun as he chased his nephews around the
house in a black cape. He growled like a scary wolf while they ran giggling
down the hall. To him, his listeners were just big kids, chuckling at his on-air
gravelly voiced antics. So in ROCK-TOBER, though we mentioned it last
month, we “Clap for the
Wolfman”! And
another DJ phenom makes headlines in San Diego, lurking around the corner with a
beard to rival Wolfman …
As usual, we’ll give you a few special dates to remember, remind you what you were listening to On Your Tinny Transistor Radio, and urge you to be a li’l Country and a whole lotta Rock & Roll!
Let’s Celebrate a Fun, Spooky Halloween & ROCK-TOBER 1974 … Rock On!
